• Concord Man Suspected In Murder Of Parents Dead At Martinez Jail (patch.com) — Concord residents are learning that the man suspected of fatally shooting his parents in Concord on New Year’s Eve has died after being found unconscious in his Martinez jail cell. Authorities say 61-year-old Kirk Richardson appeared to have inflicted head wounds on himself earlier in the day and later could not be revived, prompting investigations by the sheriff’s office and Contra Costa County prosecutors.
