Large Sinkhole Shuts Down San Diego Street Amid New Year's Storm

The sinkhole closed a Coronado street Wednesday morning, and residents were urged to avoid the area.

CORONADO, CA — A large sinkhole shut down a Coronado street Wednesday amid stormy weather conditions and predicted rain.

The sinkhole opened up on Fourth Street and Orange Avenue at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Authorities have already shut down the intersection while they address the sinkhole.
