Leaking Pipe Shuts Down Ferry Landing Water Supply

A leaking water pipe caused water damage at Peohe's at the Coronado Ferry Landing Sunday and led to water for all ferry landing businesses to be shut off for five hours.

A ruptured pipe at Peohe's in the 1200 block of 1st Street temporarily shut down water for several businesses at the Coronado Ferry Landing, according to Brian Barreto with California American Water.

Cal Am repair workers were called to the ferry landing around 5 a.m. Sunday.Β

The leak occurred "on the private side of the meter," Barreto said.

"We got out there and helped isolate the leak itself and it turned out that the only way we were able to isolate it for the private individual is we had to cut off the entire line to the Coronado Ferry Landing," he said. "If we had not done that the individual would not have been able to get individual repairs made."

The leak started at 4 a.m. and water damage was reported in Peohe's lobby, according to 10News.
