Roman Catholic nuns hit the road in bus tour to lobby against federal cuts in social services.

Religious conservatives have long lobbied Washington on behalf of their causesβ€”bans on abortion or same-sex marriage, for example. Now religious liberals are making their voices heard. The latest case: A nine-state bus tour by Catholic nuns in opposition to Republican budget proposals spearheaded by Rep. Paul Ryan that would cut federal spending on socal programs. The Vatican does not approve of the bus tour (with its own website). But the 14 sisters are unswayed. Where does God stand?Β
