There were two other thefts of purses on Friday August 2nd. One was from an unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Glorietta Blvd. at 2 p.m and the other from an unlocked house in the 400 block of 10th Street at 10 p.m.
It is unknown if these crimes are connected to the theft on Saturday. The Coronado Police Department reminds residents to be aware of your surroundings when arriving home.
Don’t leave your doors open while putting things away after just arriving home. Put valuables, like purses, wallets and keys in locations not visible to someone entering or passing by your residence.
Purses are targets because they contain money, credit cards and jewelry and are often set down and left alone when arriving home. It may not be convenient but it will likely reduce the chances you are the victim of a crime.
