UPDATED: 2 Train Cars Carrying Autos Derail Near Coronado Bridge
The train cars started leaning over at about 2:30 a.m., a railway company spokesperson said.

SAN DIEGO, CA - Two freight train cars derailed on Cesar Chavez Parkway Tuesday morning but crews had the cars back on the tracks and the train moved within two hours, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway spokesperson told Patch.
The cars -- they were carrying automobiles -- slightly came off the tracks at about 2:30 a.m., said Lena Kent, BNSF Railway spokesperson.

The train cars never fell over; crews merely got them back on track with equipment and the train was moved off the crossing by 4:30 a.m., Kent told Patch.
The morning commute was not affected, she said.

According to SDPD Officer Travis Easter, the derailments occurred at Harbor Drive -- near the onramp to the Coronado Bridge in Barrio Logan.

No injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were spilled, Easter told Patch.
