• Huntington Park just gave renters more time to pay rent amid ICE raids (lapublicpress.org) — Cudahy is highlighted as a policy leader after passing a rent protection ordinance that inspired Huntington Park’s new rule giving tenants up to one month of unpaid rent before eviction. With immigration raids disrupting jobs and housing, organizers say these SELA protections, plus a new county rent relief fund, could help stabilize vulnerable renters but still don’t go far enough.
