2 Suspects In Sunnyvale School Armed Robbery Arrested

SUNNYVALE, CA — Two men were arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery at a Sunnyvale school in April, the Department of Public Safety said.
On April 15, a robbery was reported at Ellis Elementary School on East Olive Avenue in Sunnyvale. The victim said he had arranged to meet two people who were interested in a watch he was selling. During the meeting, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and he was robbed of his watch. The victim was not injured.
Police identified two suspects: Giovanni Velez of San Jose and Enrique Guerrero of Santa Clara. On Wednesday morning, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety SWAT team and the San Jose Police Department's mobile emergency response group apprehended both suspects in separate operations.

The allegedly stolen watch was also recovered, police said.
Both Velez and Guerrero were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of robbery.
