Car Crashes Into SMC Hardware Store Causing Fire And Temporary Closure: Fire Officials
The car crashed into the building and caught fire after hitting butane tanks, fire officials said.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A car crashed into a Redwood City hardware store Tuesday, causing it to temporarily close in order to repair fire and water damage, according to the store's owner.
"We are just blown away by the love and support from our community this week as we rally from the accident at our Redwood City store," said Eric Hassett, owner of Hassett Ace Hardware at the Woodside Plaza.
The owner said that when the car crashed through the store it nearly hit an employee and his young daughter as well as a customer waiting in line. The car collided with butane tanks and flames began to rise, fire officials said.
