Apple Firing Hundreds Of Contractors: Report
The news of Apple's contractor terminations comes in the wake of around 50,000 job cuts in the tech industry in January alone.

CUPERTINO, CA — The massive staffing purge that has roiled the tech industry in recent months may have come to Apple, according to the New York Post.
The tech giant has started to quietly terminate contractors, according to a Post exclusive, which cited “people with direct knowledge.” Apple in recent days had begun cutting ties with contractors by the hundreds rather than waiting for the contracts to expire, the Post reported.
The news comes after the tech industry saw around 50,000 job cuts in January alone, including 18,000 at Amazon, 12,000 at Google and 10,000 at Microsoft. The mass cuts began in late 2022, when Twitter and Meta each laid off thousands of employees.
