Bad Weather Causes Dozens of Bay Area Flight Delays, Cancellations

San Francisco International Airport says that so far on Feb. 9 there's already been over 100 weather-related flight delays & cancellations.

BAY AREA, CA -- If you're planning on taking a flight out of San Francisco International Airport anytime soon, you'll definitely want to check with the airline to make sure the flight hasn't been delayed or cancelled.

There have already been about 100 flight cancellations and dozens of flights delayed out of SFO today due to wind and rain in the Bay Area, as well as bad weather elsewhere in the county, according to an airport duty manager.

About 45 flights were delayed by up to two hours by 8 am on Thursday, Feb. 9, duty manager Maria Buyco said.

An East Coast snowstorm is combining with the stormy weather here to cause the cancellations and delays, Buyco said.

Airport officials advise travelers to always check with their airlines for specific flight information.
