Bay Area Wind Advisory Issued
BREAKING: A strong cold front is expected to pass over the Bay Area on Jan. 18, bringing rain and strong winds.

BAY AREA, CA -- If you thought the rainy, windy weather of the past week for gone for good, brace yourself, because more is on the way.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the San Francisco Bay Area that takes effect Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Weather service officials said the advisory will be in place from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Wednesday due to a strong cold front will pass over the Bay Area Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing rainfall and a period of strong winds.

Wind gusts could reach 50 mph near the coast and in the hills, according to the NWS, with frequent gusts of 40 to 45 mph possibly in lower elevations.
The winds could result in downed trees, limbs and power lines weather service officials say.
