Earthquake Recap: Five Small Quakes and Shakes
Five small earthquakes hit the Silicon Valley region this week, but they were too small for most to feel.
Five small earthquakes tickled the Richter scale around Silicon Valley this week, with the two largest registering a magnitude of 1.7, five kilometers outside of Portola Valley and one kilometer south of Woodside, according to data gathered by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Generally, earthquakes that fail to break the 2.0-mark on the scale are difficult to feel far from the epicenter.
