Hey Kids: Be All You Can Be In Law Enforcement

High school students in the west valley of Santa Clara Co. may join a teen academy and dream of going into police work starting in January.

CUPERTINO, CA -- Start 'em early. The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office's West Valley Division is offering a Teen & Community Academy to high school students and adult residents in Saratoga, Cupertino, Los Altos Hills, and other unincorporated communities within West Valley Patrol's jurisdiction.

The academy offers a transparent overview into the functions of the sheriff’s office and operational procedures. The curriculum is similar to those of the sheriff’s office enforcement academy, with a mixture of hands-on training, lecture and scenario based training.

Sorry kids. The weekly classes are not designed to make the citizens deputies but instead will give residents an insight into what deputies do on a daily basis.
