CUPERTINO, CA -- The future of smartphones is coming out next week.

Cupertino-based company Apple announced on Tuesday that the long-awaited iPhone X will be available for pre-order this Friday and in-stores next week.

The $999 smartphone boasts a 5.8-inch Super Retina display, 3D gaming experiences, wireless charging and Face ID, and a new way to authenticate and pay.

Interested in a phone for those selfies? Apple has you covered on that front too. Users can also expect a TrueDepth camera with portrait lighting in the front of the camera.

The smartphone will be available in silver and space gray in 64GB or 256GB models.
