K-9 Luau To Remember Sean Walsh Set For Saturday
Near and dear to its heart, the Santa Clara Police Dept. is hosting the foundation fundraiser in honor of the Calif. National Guard soldier.

SANTA CLARA, CA — A heartwarming event for the ages, Sean's K-9s Annual Luau Fundraiser is slated for the Elks Lodge this Saturday with a slew of events sure to stir the animal lover and patriot in us all.
The event to be located at 1608 Martin Avenue includes:
- K-9 meet and greet at 3 p.m.
- Butterfly release at 4:45 p.m.
- Luau with Hawaiian food, live dancers and music
The funds raised at the benefit of the Sean M. Walsh Foundation as it stems from Sean M. Walsh, a California National Guard police soldier who while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom was killed in action in the Khost Province of Afghanistan on Nov. 16, 2011.

Prior to that service, Walsh was a Santa Clara Police explorer. His ultimate goal was to become a police officer and canine handler with the department. Since his passing, the Sean M. Walsh Foundation has bought 26 dogs and assisted seven departments with equipment purchases. The Santa Clara Police Department has been the recipient of five dogs from the Sean M. Walsh Foundation.
