Live Grenade Detonated At South Bay Home: VIDEO
A Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was summoned to a Campbell home on the report of a suspicious device, authorities said.
CAMPBELL, CA — A grenade found outside a South Bay home Thursday afternoon was safely detonated, authorities said.
A Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responding to a Campbell residence on the report of a suspicious device safely detonated the grenade at 3:37 p.m., the agency wrote on its Facebook page.
“Bomb Squad Technicians confirmed the device was a live grenade and the grenade was safely detonated and rendered safe,” the agency said.

A loud explosion was heard in the neighborhood when the live grenade was detonated.

Police and sheriff's officials said there was never any danger to the public.
No one was injured.
