• Appeals court backs contempt finding against Apple, but reopens a door for iPhone app fees (mercurynews.com) — A new federal appeals court ruling affects Apple, the Cupertino-based tech giant, by upholding a contempt finding yet allowing it to charge some commission on alternative in‑app payment systems. The decision sends the case back to a lower court to set a “fair” fee, keeping alive a long-running fight with Fortnite maker Epic Games over how much Apple can earn from iPhone app purchases.
