Run For Schools, Vets Sunday In Santa Clara
The Firehouse 5k/10k Walk-run will close a number of roads in Santa Clara on Sunday.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- Walk, run -- but just try to avoid driving near Santa Clara University where the Firehouse 5K/10K Walk/Run is coming around again.
The event staged by the Santa Clara Firefighters Foundation on Dec. 2. supports Santa Clara Unified School District Schools and local military veteran groups. About 2,000 participants are anticipated.
The start and finish will be located at Buck Shaw Field, with on-campus parking available for participants and spectators. No fee or permit is required. Participants should use one of the following designated parking lots: Leavey Center Parking Lot at the corner of El Camino Real and Accolti Way and the Main Parking Garage - located on Palm Drive.

The race will begin at 8:30am. Temporary road closures are expected on the following streets between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.:
- El Camino Real
- The Alameda Market Street
- Jefferson Street
- Harrison Street
- Fremont Street
- Sherman Street
- Palm Drive
Runners with strollers will be permitted on the race course, but no pets will be allowed.
