Santa Clara Teen Killed, 4 Injured In Crash
BREAKING: There were no passengers in the vehicle of the teen who died; four occupants inside the car he struck suffered moderate injuries.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — A 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a hospital after he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to turn and hit another vehicle with multiple passengers in the city of Santa Clara on Sunday night, according to police. There were no passengers in the vehicle of the teen who died, while the four occupants inside the car he struck were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
At 10:22 p.m., the boy was driving west on Monroe Street in his Acura Integra when, for reasons yet to be determined, he swerved while trying to turn onto northbound Bowers Avenue and collided with a Toyota Highlander.
The Highlander was stopped in the left lane of southbound Bowers Avenue at a red light, according to police.

The force of the collision caused the Highlander to get pushed into the front yard of a residence on the northwest corner of the intersection. It tipped over onto its passenger side, according to police.
The name of the boy, a Santa Clara resident, is not yet being released by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
