So Mod: Free Pizza For 52 In Cupertino Village This Friday

A new Mod Pizza arrives, where pizzas are hand-cooked in 800 degree ovens in less than 3 minutes, and 'hand spun milkshakes' are available.

CUPERTINO - It’s going to be busier than usual near the intersection of Homestead and Wolfe this Friday.

Right around noon, 52 lucky-to-be-first-in-line customers will feast on free pizza and salads when the new Mod Pizza opens its doors in Cupertino Village.

Why 52?

“We originally came up with the first 52 because we didn’t want to just do 50 (didn’t seem very MOD),” Marketing Manager Charlotte Wayte told Patch, “and because we also give away free pizza for a year on opening day – which is actually one pizza a week for a year.”

Seattle-based MOD Pizza will be donating 100% of proceeds from all pizza sales on Friday to local non-profit West Valley Community Services, who provide transitional housing, food pantry, and support services for families within the west valley communities of Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, West San Jose and the surrounding mountain regions.
