Sunnyvale Woman Fatally Struck By Car
Deputies responded Sunday night to a report of a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian in the area of Homestead Road and Heron Avenue.

SUNNYVALE - A woman was fatally struck by a car Sunday night in Sunnyvale, according to the city's Department of Public Safety.
Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies and firefighters responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian in the area of Homestead Road and Heron Avenue at about 8:10 p.m., public safety officials said.
Investigators determined the accident happened within Sunnyvale city limits and the Department of Public Safety took over the investigation.

Emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office is working on identifying her and notifying her next of kin, public safety officials said.

The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, according to public safety officials.
Drugs or alcohol didn't appear to have played a role in the collision.
