Suspect's Vehicle Breakdown Ends Cupertino Freeway Pursuit

Two suspects were arrested on unspecified charges, authorities said.

CUPERTINO, CA — A South Bay pursuit ended when the suspect's vehicle broke down on the freeway, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies recovered five catalytic converters and a replica firearm and arrested two vehicle occupants including the driver on unspecified charges, the Sheriff’s Office said.

“Deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle in #Cupertino and it immediately fled from deputies,” the agency said on its Facebook page.

“After a short vehicle pursuit, the #suspect vehicle overheated (lucky for us), and two suspects were later apprehended.”
