Threat Halts San Jose Alaska Airlines Flight To Hawaii

BREAKING: Passengers of the Honolulu-bound flight Wednesday were forced to deplane, Mineta San Jose International Airport officials say.

SAN JOSE, CA — An Alaska Airlines flight from Mineta San Jose International Airport to Honolulu was forced to deplane and re-board its passengers this morning after a threat was made against the aircraft, an airport spokesperson said. The threat, which was deemed non-credible, was made on Alaska Airlines Flight 837 to Honolulu that was scheduled to depart at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, airport officials said.

As of 10:45 a.m., airport officials said the flight, which had 180 passengers on board, hadn't taken off yet from San Jose but was likely leaving soon. A flight tracking website showed the plane over the Pacific Ocean as of 11:25 a.m.

An airport spokesperson said they weren't at liberty to discuss the specific threat made against the aircraft and directed questions about it to Alaska Airlines, which hadn't returned a request for comment as of late
Wednesday morning.
