• Trainer Banned From Racing Track Following Deaths Of 5 Horses (patch.com) — A string of horse deaths at Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress has led track officials to ban trainer Ramiro Castillo from stabling, training, or racing there. Under pressure from state regulators after 18 racing fatalities this year, the Cypress track is pledging stricter safety protocols and weekly meetings with the California Horse Racing Board to reduce injuries.
