• Daly City man pleads no contest to attempted manslaughter for stabbing man with whom wife had affair (mercurynews.com) — A Daly City resident has pleaded no contest to attempted voluntary manslaughter after a knife attack on a man he discovered with his wife, an incident that unfolded in front of his three young children. Prosecutors say a judge reduced the original attempted murder charge, and the defendant now faces up to seven years in state prison, with sentencing set for February.
   

• Fatally Shoving Murder Trial Against Antoine Watson Begins (thesfnews.com) — A Daly City resident is now on trial in San Francisco in connection with the fatal 2021 shoving of 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdee, a case that helped galvanize the Stop Asian Hate movement. Judges have ruled the murder and elder-abuse charges should proceed, and opening statements began this week with more witness testimony expected.
   

• SF Cops Dispatch Firefighters in Sunset Charity Slugfest (thefrisc.com) — A San Francisco police-versus-firefighter charity boxing night drew a packed crowd, with fighters training at Fire in the Ring gym based at the Cow Palace in Daly City. The long-running Irish-American boxing tradition raised money for youth sports while showcasing first responders from across the city, and organizers are already eyeing the much larger Cow Palace for next year’s event.
