The Davis Food Co-op, located at 620 G Street in downtown Davis, is pleased to announce a donation of $16,671 to the Yolo County Food Bank. The donations are a result of the funds raised as part of the 26th Annual Holiday Meal, a free dinner held for our community every December 24th. Through the generous donations of Co-op suppliers, area businesses, Co-opshoppers and guests at the Meal, this year’s event served a festive holiday dinner to more than 500 people as well as collecting donations to feed the hungry year round.
Volunteers donated 160 hours of labor on the day of the Meal, and Co-op staff spent two months putting it all together. Thanks to our community for making this such a great event for everyone involved!
The Davis Food Co-op is a full line, member-owned supermarket specializing in natural, organic, and minimally processed foods. The Co-op is open to the general public to shop and join. Members pay the shelf price while non-members pay a 5% surcharge. For more information, please call Julie Cross at the Co-op at (530) 758-2667.
