Downtown Art Studios Available at Affordable Prices

There is a great opportunity for artists to rent affordable space downtown Davis to work and display their art. It will be based on the concept of Open Studios, which has been very successful in many cities throughout the world.

Available now in Davis is a small commercial complex located at 231 G St., near the corner of 3rdand G Streets. The whole upstairs area will be refurbished into separate studios with co-operative management by the participating artists. This approach is modeled on the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Va.

The goal for the art studios-to-be is workspace for the artists, exhibits and areas for instruction.  Envisioned is a mix of disciplines of fine arts, performing arts, and new media (video, digital). It will create a diverse and exciting mix of arts activities going on in a creative space. The units are upstairs, arranged around an inviting courtyard .
