From Davis Police Department
The Davis Police Department, in cooperation with the US Drug Enforcement Administration, are taking back unused and unwanted prescription medication.
WHEN:
October 26, 2013 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
WHERE:
The Davis Police Department—2600 5th St.
WHY:
* Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse.
* Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision.
* The majority of teenagers abusing prescription drugs get them from family and friends – and the home medicine cabinet.
