Davis Beating & Robbery Started with Online Date; Both Suspects Arrested

The suspects chased the victim to an apartment complex, where they struck him in the head with a club-like weapon, knocking him unconscious.

Both suspects in the  in W. Davis were arrested Wednesday.

Police also learned that the beating and robbery started when the victim, who is from Oakland, invited a female that he met online to meet him where he was staying with some family, near 1500 Shasta Drive.

The beating, which left the victim unconscious, resulted in the victim being taken to UC Davis Medical Center with head injuries.

Police arrested 18-year-old Frederick Bryson of Vacaville in the parking lot of a Ramada Inn in West Sacramento around 6 pm. Terrence O’Neil, 21, also from Vacaville, was arrested in Vacaville a few hours later.

Further investigation revealed the 20-year-old victim had met a female online and invited her to visit him in Davis where he was staying with friends and family members. As the victim was walking with the female in the area of Covell and Hwy 113, her friends attacked and robbed him. The suspects chased the victim to an apartment complex at 1500 Shasta where they struck him in the head with a club-like weapon knocking him unconscious. The female has been identified by detectives but was not arrested. Her role in this incident is still under investigation.

Both suspects were booked at the Yolo County Jail on charges of Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon, according to Doroshov. Some of the victim’s property was recovered at the time of the arrest.
