This is an opportunity to educate ourselves, our students, staff and community about the unique challenges Native people have faced, both historically and in the present, as well as the ways in which people of Native descent have worked to overcome and conquer these challenges.

Our District honors the indigenous people of the Davis area with the recent adoption of a Native Land Acknowledgement which is designed to pay homage to the indigenous people and to the land on which the Davis Joint Unified School District is located. It also serves as a mechanism to educate our students and community, staff and the community.
