Today: Picnic in the Park with It's About Time

It's about time they brought some big-band and swing music to Picnic in the Park...

Now that I've got that little play on words out of my system, I'll introduce tonight's outdoor entertainment at the Farmers Market: "It's About Time." 

The Davis group formed in 1996 when Joe De Hope, Steve Slinkard and Rich Nuccitelli's kids -- who played in a jazz band together -- graduated high school. The three decided to put together an adult band of their own. With this foundation, and word of mouth, the band quickly grew to 17 instrumentalists, according to their website.  More recently, they added Vicki Tama as vocalist.

Members range from their 20s to their 70s. Head to Picnic in the Park and see for yourself.
