Temperatures will climb into the triple digits in Davis for the next few days.

If you thought the weekend was warm, Mother Nature isn't finished yet.
Get ready for sweltering weather this week, in what the National Weather Service is calling "the most extensive period of hot weather for northern California experienced so far this summer."

As for the weather itself: Temperatures in the Sacramento area will break 100 starting Tuesday for the rest of the week, according to the NWS. In Davis, the agency is predicting 102-degree highs on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a 101-degree high on Thursday.
Make sure to drink plenty of water and keep pets inside during the late afternoon when temperatures peak, the NWS warns.
