Humans vs. Zombies at UC Davis

All this week, students at UC Davis will be playing in a glorified game of tag called Humans vs. Zombies. If you'd like to play, you must register on the local Humans vs. Zombies website. 

Rather than explain the details myself, I’ll let the zombie experts do the talking:

Humans vs. Zombies is a glorified game of tag played at many college campuses throughout the world. The basic goal of the game is to survive (not get tagged) as long as possible. To learn more about the game you can visit the main organization's website here.

If you have any questions about the game or the (UC Davis-specific) rules, you can ask on the group’s Facebook page.

The first Humans vs. Zombies game was last fall. According to an entry on DavisWiki, it ended in a human victory thanks in large part to “zombie apathy” on the final day, with “many of the head zombies opting to instead go to a Cake concert.”

The national Humans vs. Zombies webpage features a post specific to UC Davis and last November’s pepper spraying: 

As players, we work closely with school administrations to make sure that HvZ is played respectfully and peacefully. It betrays our trust when school administrators fail to extend that same respect to the students they are supposed to protect.

We are working with student organizers to assess the safety the UC Davis Humans vs. Zombies game, and we stand in solidarity with the students of UC Davis.
