Juneteenth returns with call for vendors, exhibitors, performers

Organizers hoping for big turnout after two year hiatus from COVID-19 pandemic response

Vallejo, CA | Organizers are preparing for Vallejo’s 32nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration after canceling the event in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Vendors and exhibitors are invited to apply to participate in the festival on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Corporate, business and community sponsors are also being sought to support this event. The Juneteenth celebration will take place at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park downtown behind City Hall at Mare Island Way & Capitol Street.

The event organizers are also seeking local talent for a segment of the entertainment program who want to showcase their talent in the spoken and dance arts, as well as up and coming singers and musicians.

Juneteenth is the oldest celebration commemorating freedom for the remaining enslaved people of African heritage in Texas two and half years after the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863.
