08/21/2012 - 6:00 PM - State Route 16 west of County Road 96B
Inigo Victoriano Encarnacion, a 23-year-old male from Woodland was driving a 1995 Mercury Cougar on eastbound SR-16, just west of CR-96B. Amy Ellen Alcaraz, a 35-year-old female from Esparto was driving a 1993 Ford F-150 directly behind the Mercury. Encarnacion began to slow on the roadway, but Alcaraz, failed to slow, causing the Ford collided with the rear of Mercury.

The traffic collision caused moderate damage to the involved vehicles, but there were no injuries reported.

Amalia Mora Uriostegui, a 46-year-old male from Yuba City was driving a 2013 Freightliner tractor trailer combination on westbound SR-16, approaching the intersection with CR-89. Robert Michael Lee, a 56-year-old male from Sun Valley was driving a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle on eastbound SR-16, approaching the intersection with CR-89. The vehicles came to a the intersection, where Uriostegui attempted to make a left hand turn, while Lee attempted to proceed straight. The vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, causing the front of the Freightliner to collided with the Harley Davidson.
The traffic collision caused minor damage to the Freightliner and moderate damage to the Harley Davidson, but there were no injuries reported.

08/22/2012 - 12:32 AM - Richards Boulevard at I-80
Darrel Paul Makela, a 51-year-old male from Davis was driving a 1992 Chevy pick on northbound Richards Boulevard, just north of I-80. CHP officers observed the Chevy driving slowly and erratically as it approached downtown Davis. Officers conducted a traffic stop and contact Makela, who was exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication. Officers conducted a DUI evaluation and determined that Makela was driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and further investigation revealed that he was in possession of a "Billy Club", which is a felony violation of the California Penal Code.
Makela was booked into the Yolo County Jail on DUI and possession of a 'Billy Club" charges.
