Yolo County partnership awarded grant for affordable housing community (dailydemocrat.com) — Davis residents stand to benefit from a major Yolo County grant that will boost Yolobus service between Woodland, Davis, Sacramento, and the airport while supporting a new affordable housing community in Woodland. The project also draws on input from Davis Community Action Network and regional climate planning, promising better transit, safer bike and pedestrian routes, and long-term free transit passes for future residents.
   

2. Eggs recalled after Salmonella sickens 63 people in California: See the list of products and stores impacted (fastcompany.com) — Residents who shop or eat in Davis should check their egg cartons, because Vega Farms brown eggs linked to a Salmonella outbreak were sold at several Davis locations, including Davis Food Co-op and UC Davis markets. State health officials urge anyone with affected eggs to throw them away or return them, sanitize surfaces, and contact a doctor if they develop symptoms like diarrhea, fever, or stomach cramps.
   

3. Is There a Psychedelic Aspect to Childhood Games? 5. New CA Laws Taking Effect in 2026 (blackvoicenews.com) — Several new California laws taking effect January 1, 2026 will affect Davis residents, including a bill by local Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry extending the statute of limitations for adult sexual assault claims.
