Someone Tried to Steal an ATM From Inside Burger King Using a Stolen Dodge Ram

Suspects ran a cable from the front of the vehicle through a shattered Burger King window, where it was tied around the ATM machine

Suspects in a black Dodge Ram tried to pull an ATM Machine from inside the Burger King on Mace Boulevard on Saturday.

With the truck parked in the drive-thru, the suspects ran a cable from the front of the vehicle through a shattered Burger King window, where it was tied around the ATM machine, according to the Davis Police Department.

Their effort to steal the ATM machine ended in failure, and the suspects (not sure how many) fled the scene before police showed up. They left the Dodge Ram at the scene.

The truck, it turns out, had been reported stolen in the Sacramento area the previous day.

“We don’t have access to the surveillance,” said Davis Police Spokesperson Glenn Glasgow. “We’re working with the business owners to see if we’re be able to retrieve surveillance.”

For now, they’ll work with the physical evidence officers gathered at the scene. Glasgow did not elaborate on the specific evidence.
