Other facts
In these difficult times, it is crucial that we have experienced leaders overseeing our schools - leaders who understand how to deliver the best educational program possible with limited resources. I am President of the Davis School Board, having served as Trustee since 2007. I have also served as President of the Yolo County School Boards Association and as Delegate to the California School Boards Association. I earned a Bachelors degree in natural resources from Cornell University and a Masters of Library Science from Syracuse University.
I work for California Forward (www.CAFwd.org), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to putting government back in the business of solving problems. We promote transparency, accountability for improved results and public participation in the democratic process.
As a parent and school volunteer for more than 15 years, I know how hard our teachers and staff work to educate students and keep our campuses safe. Now - more than ever before - we must work together with common purpose. I seek a second term on the Davis School Board because I am dedicated to supporting our local schools and students, maintaining high standards, and delivering the excellent educational program our children deserve.
