An unidentified 21-year-old man remains unconscious after an in home struggle with a 67-year-old man over a handgun.

Vacaville police said a man who was shot in the head during a heated family argument Wednesday morning survived surgery and was in stable condition today.
The unidentified 21-year-old man had not regained consciousness as of this afternoon, Sgt. Jeff King said.
The shooting happened in a residence in the 100 block of Kingsland Court in south Vacaville. Police responded around 11:30 a.m.
The young man and a 67-year-old man were struggling over a handgun when it discharged, King said.
The man, who also lives at the residence, suffered shortness of breath and was taken to a hospital but has been released, King said.
Police have responded before to calls at the residence but none involved violence, King said.
King said he did not want to discuss what the argument was about because the shooting victim is unable to communicate.

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred during a heated family argument at a south Vacaville home on Wednesday morning, a police sergeant said.
A 21-year-old man was shot once in the head around 11:30 a.m. during a struggle over a handgun at a home in the 100 block of Kingsland Court, Sgt. Jeff King said.
"Two male subjects began struggling over a handgun and the weapon discharged," King said.
The victim was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery. His condition was considered very serious, King said.
A 67-year-old man who also lives at the home suffered shortness of breath and was taken to a hospital. King did not say if that man was involved in the struggle for the handgun.
