The Davis Business Walk is presented by the city of Davis, Davis Chamber of Commerce, and the Davis Downtown Business Association in partnership with the Sacramento Metro Chamber and its Metro Pulse partners. The business walks have won acclaim from international economic developers for strengthening local economies.

The business walks help initiate contacts with businesses in the region, developing an ongoing conversation to help get businesses the resources they need to succeed. Business people, along with city and chamber staff, will visit Davis businesses, asking owners and managers three questions: How is business, what do you like about doing business in Davis, and how can business be improved?

“Understanding what really matters to business requires constant attention. The Business Walk will keep us in touch, so the City’s commitment to business services can be realized. Hearing from 200 Davis businesses is a tremendous input to staff and our Council,” said Joe Krovoza, Mayor of Davis. “Partnering with the Davis Chamber of Commerce and the Davis Downtown Business Association for the Business Walk continues our commitment to always seeking improvements to our local business climate.”

The Business Walks are part of a regional “best practices” strategy for business retention and expansion. Last year the Business Walk program visited over 1,600 businesses throughout the six county region. In 2012, the Metro Chamber and its partners are planning eight to ten events across the region.

“The Metro Chamber Business Walk is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our local businesses,” said Stewart Savage, Director of Davis Downtown Business Association. “Not only do we get first-hand information about the business climate and the issues business owners face on a daily basis, we get a chance to build positive relationships that can bring the Davis business community together.
