Woman Bit By Dog at Arboretum: Sheriff Wants Your Help
Have you seen a 50-pound dark brown, male Terrier near the UC Davis Arboretum?

A 50-pound dog bit a 21-year-old UC Davis student at the this past weekend. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is trying to locate that dog in hopes of preventing further treatment for the victim. They want your help.
The female UC Davis student was bitten at the Arboretum on March 10 while trying to pet what she described as a "dark brown, male Terrier," which was tied up at the time.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office issued this statement today:
The Animal Services Section wants to ensure the public understands information regarding this incident is important for rabies prevention because Rabies is a deadly disease. Finding the offending animal may prevent post exposure rabies treatment for the victim. Also, as part of the Rabies Prevention Program it is important to ensure the dog’s license and rabies vaccine are current.

We would also like to remind the public to use caution when petting or approaching any animal with which they are not familiar. Animals who seem calm and adorable may only be exercising their protective instincts when they lash out.
