Woodland, CA - The Yolo County Board of Education held its final meeting of 2024 on Tuesday, December 16, to swear in new and returning trustees and elect its officers for the upcoming year.

During the meeting, the Board welcomed two trustees: Shelton Yip of Davis was re-elected to a four-year term, and Maria Olmedo of Woodland was elected to her first term.

The oath of office for Shelton Yip was administered by County Superintendent Garth Lewis. Yip has served for over a decade on the Board of Education. In 2022, he was elected to a two-year term to complete the remaining term for Trustee Area 4, which covers central and southern Davis, following a vacancy. He was re-elected in November to serve another four years. Yip also previously served as a Trustee on the board from 2012 to 2020.
