KITCHEN 1540 In Del Mar Earns 'Wine Spectator' Award
The restaurant at L'Auberge Del Mar prides itself on its wine collection and "Coastal California-inspired cuisine."

DEL MAR, CA —The signature restaurant at hotel L’Auberge Del Mar, KITCHEN 1540, with Chef Christopher Carriker at the helm, earned a Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” in its annual Restaurant Awards competition for 2019, according to the eatery.
Chosen by a designated editorial team, KITCHEN 1540 will be listed along with all of this year’s winners at Restaurants.WineSpectator.com in the Aug. 31 issue of Wine Spectator, which will be released this month.
“We are thrilled for KITCHEN 1540 to be recognized by industry leader Wine Spectator,” said Robert Gregson, general manager for the 121-room resort. “We are particularly proud of the 33 outstanding champagne selections available for guests to celebrate their special occasions with us, and we look forward to sharing more of our award-winning wine list with the community through a series of wine dinners planned for later this year.”

With "Coastal California-inspired cuisine," KITCHEN 1540 offers 225 wines from a diversified 2,500-bottle inventory from California, including from the Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, Russian River, plus wines from France, with choices from Champagne.
Chef Carriker oversees three L’Auberge Del Mar’s venues: KITCHEN 1540; the Living Room’s Coastline Deck; and Bleu Bar.
