LePort Montessori Students Donate $3,500 to Alex's Lemonade Stand
Students hosted a lemonade stand to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research
Students at LePort Montessori School Solana Beach in Del Mar recently donated more than $3,500 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. To raise money for the organization, campers sold lemonade and various treats to their fellow campers, families, staff, and teachers.
LePort Montessori School instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
