Olympian Bode Miller Gets Del Mar Victory—as Co-owner of Racehorse
Third race Thursday saw Carving—as in carving up the slopes—win maiden claiming debut.

Winter Olympian Bode Miller earned his first win in Del Mar on Thursday—but not by skiing.
According to bleacherreport.com: “The five-time Olympic medalist sent his racehorse, Carving, to post in the third race at Del Mar—a maiden claiming event. Carving won his debut by 1 3/4 lengths.”
Miller shares ownership of Carving with Natalie Baffert, and the horse was ridden by Chantal Sutherland.
