Thief Steals Credit Cards; Charges $7,500 at Del Mar Costco

An unidentified female suspect also used one of the victim's stolen credit cards at the Best Buy in Encinitas, spending about $3,300.

Investigators from San Diego County Sheriff's Department are looking for a female who is suspected of using stolen credit cards, several of which may have been stolen from a movie theater in Del Mar.

Detectives said that sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 14, an unknown suspect stole several credit cards from a female victim out of her purse.

According to the sheriff's department, an unidentified female suspect used one of the victim’s stolen credit cards at the Best Buy in Encinitas on Oct. 14 around 5:10 p.m. The suspect purchased about $3,300 in merchandise.

The same female suspect also used one of the stolen credit cards at the Costco, located at Del Mar, and purchased about $7,500 worth of merchandise, authorities said.

The suspect attempted to use the stolen credit cards at several other stores but those transactions where declined by the credit card companies, the sheriff's department said.

Surveillance cameras captured a picture of the suspect, but no surveillance video available.
