Bodel’s niece, Jessical Bodel, previously said her family was devastated by her uncle’s death and pleaded for anyone with additional information or security camera footage from that night to come forward.

She described her uncle as someone who always "enjoyed going out into the community and supporting it in every way he could."

"Anybody who can help bring my uncle justice would be greatly appreciated," Jessica Bodel said.

The Diamond Bar City Council and Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors each offered a $10,000 reward on information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or person involved in Bodel’s death.

The car was described as a two-door silver sedan with damage to its front end, including a cracked windshield, the sheriff's department said.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station at 909-859-2817. Anonymous tips can be sent to L.A. Crime Stoppers on its website or at 800-222-8477.

Credible tips sent anonymously are not eligible for the reward from the county and city.
