Man Pleads No Contest in Deadly Pomona Crash

POMONA, CA - A 23-year-old man pleaded no contest Tuesday to felony vehicular manslaughter for a deadly crash last year in Pomona.
Javier Luviano is facing two years in state prison, with sentencing set for June 15 at the Pomona courthouse, according to Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Eric Savengrith, 25, was fatally injured in the Jan. 14, 2015, collision in the 4000 block of Valley Boulevard. Investigators said Luviano pulled out onto Valley Boulevard and struck Savengrith's vehicle.
Luviano was arrested and charged with the felony count last year after an investigation by the Pomona Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team.
