Minnesota Man Wanted in Suspicion of Elder Abuse Arrested in Pomona
David John Vanzo allegedly took his dead mother to bank to withdraw money before reporting her death.

POMONA, CA - Pomona police Thursday arrested a Minnesota man wanted on suspicion of elder abuse in the death of his mother.
David John Vanzo, 57, was taken into custody about 8:30 a.m., Pomona police Lt. Christian Hsu said.
Vanzo was wanted for suspected elder abuse. He allegedly took his dead mother to the bank to withdraw $850 from her account before reporting her death, according to Plymouth, Minn. police.

Vanzo, a resident of Plymouth, was held on a $500,000 warrant, and arrangements will be made to return him to Minnesota, Hsu said.
"This morning, we received information from Plymouth Police Department in Minnesota that a wanted person from their jurisdiction may be living in Pomona," Hsu said.

"They reported that David John Vanzo is wanted for charges related to elderly abuse and neglect of his deceased mother," Hsu said. "Officers responded to 1495 Cleveland St. and located Vanzo, (who) was cooperative and was eventually arrested for the warrant."
